Whether you are going to be making your first turns or tearing up the off-piste this winter, proper preparation will enable you to make the most of your ski holiday. Starting with a strong foundation and building deep work capacity, you will be able to not just ski more every day – allowing you to get more out of your holiday – but also ski more confidently and be better prepared against injury.

Over the course of this one day workshop, hosted at Barbers Gym, the emphasis will be on the work, with workouts covering:

  • Mobility and stability.
  • Strength for skiing.
  • Building a bigger engine for mountain work capacity and endurance.

And classes on:

  • The fundamental movements and how they apply to skiing.
  • Programming for ski fitness
  • Warming up, cooling down, and maintenance while on your ski holiday

You will leave the the workshop with a thorough understanding of how best to progress you own training, applying the techniques and methods you have learned to focus your training and best prepare you for your ski holiday.

You will all take away two template programmes; the first a body weight programme, and the second a gym based programme to use as a starting point for your training.

Whether you are trying out your first trail run to preparing for the epic UTMB, off-season strength training will help get you to the start line in your best form.

I am proud to announce Run Strong, an off-season strength training workshop, again at Barbers Gym, that will share all the research and development I have been completing in Chamonix. Autumn is the perfect time to put in the hard work of building your strength base to power up those hills, develop the mobility and agility to move like a mountain goat on broken trails, and to start injury-proofing yourself for all the miles to come.
